Valleyfair Opening Day This Weekend – Idea for Mom?

Signs of summer in Minnesota with the weather suddenly turning summerlike, you might be thinking more about the area splash pads and wading pools announcing opening dates, garage sales, music festival dates and line-ups are being announced, and Valleyfair announces their opening date for the season, which happens to be this Sunday - also Mother's Day and the fishing opener.  Always on the same weekend.  Well, not Valleyfair, but the other two.

Valleyfair might be the perfect thing for "something different to do" for Mother's Day.  Definitely not the norm.  It could be really fun!  That is, depending on what your mom likes to do.  Or, if you are the mom, might be a lot of fun.

Valleyfair in Shakopee has also announced their event schedule.  If you are a person who loves Valleyfair and you want to go several times throughout the summer, you get an extra perk with the preliminary opening date the day before everyone else gets to go.

Plus, new this year is a great culinary event.  Valleyfair will have a Juicy Lucy festival.  How fun, and yummy, right?!  This is part of their Summerbration Events.

First, is the 4th of July celebration.  Star Spangled Night.

Perfect for all ages, this fireworks event celebrates the spirit of our nation with a magnificent show of dazzling lights and sound.

The Juicy Lucy festival, which is new, will happen for 2 weekends. Jul. 12-13 and 19-20

Join us for the inaugural Juicy Lucy Festival, celebrating Minnesota's famous burger! Savor the flavors of an imaginative lineup of juicy lucy burgers and other Minnesota favorite flavors, dozens of local brews, ciders, and cocktails, and live, local bands providing the soundtrack of that fine Minnesota summertime!

There is also Latin Days in August, the 2nd and 3rd, alsong with the annual Corn Fest which happens weekends August 16 through September 1st.

When we get to Fall and Halloween, Valleyfair will turn to Valleyscare.  That will happen on select nights from September 20 through October 25th.  And they will bring back their Tricks and Treats days which is more family friendly, and not scary like Valleyscare.  Tricks and Treats event will happen on select days September 27th through the 26th of October.
