Upsala Church Posts Funny Sign About the June Heat Wave

This early June heatwave has been brutal, and Central Minnesotans are doing their best to get through it with a good sense of humor. Highs will be in the upper 80s this week as well, luckily the heat won't be as intense but it also isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I was driving home from the lake this weekend, and as I drove through Upsala I had to do a double-take and pull over to take a photo of Community Covenant Church's welcome sign out front. It read:

Our church is prayer conditioned, and air conditioned. Join us Sunday at 9:30.

A high five goes to whoever came up with this sign, it's just great marketing. Topical, relevant, informational, and catchy. It checks all the boxes.

I've never been to this church, but I do know they have a great sense of humor. In the winter of 2020, they had a similar funny sign during a major cold snap. That one read:

I got a good giggle out of this sign on my ride home after a hot weekend by the water, and I appreciate the fact that this church on the main street in the small town of Upsala continues to spread joy. The world needs more happiness in it, and definitely more air conditioning. Stay cool friends!
