UPDATE: Death Investigation Determined Murder-Suicide

EDEN VALLEY -- The investigation involving the deaths of two people found in rural Eden Valley Monday has been determined a murder-suicide.

Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruze says 17-year-old David Cunningham shot 15-year-old Jessica Cunningham before turning the gun on himself. Their father, 51-year-old Thomas Cunningham, came home to find his children dead.

Cruze says two search warrants were used at the home on 340th Street in Harvey Township. One warrant was a follow-up for the murder-suicide investigation, the other for marijuana and marijuana growing related items.

A separate investigation was started and is being handled by the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force. The drug case and murder-suicide cases don not appear to be related.

David, a student at ACGC, was home due to no school the day of the incident, while Jessica, had been doing on-line schooling.

There is no known motive for the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
