Snowboard Event Cancelled for This Weekend in Minneapolis
And the hits keep coming. There has been a ton of unrest in the Twin Cities over the last couple of weeks. Protests, ICE raids, shootings, etc. And obviously this news has been reported all over the United States. Whether or not it has been overblown by the media does not really matter as perception is many times reality.
HAVE EVENTS BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE OF THE PROTESTS & RAIDS
Because of this... allegedly, there have been some events that have been postponed or just straight up cancelled. You heard about comedian John Mulaney postponing his shows that were scheduled for last weekend to some dates in April. Now, there is another event that has been cancelled. This event was scheduled for tomorrow.
Now, this is really just an educated guess as to the reason that this event has been cancelled. But the smart money is on the fact that people don't necessarily want to bring a bunch of people to the area when this is so much unrest. And it was cancelled very last minute.
THERE ARE SOME OTHER LOCATIONS WHERE THIS EVENT WILL STILL HAPPEN
If you go to the Red Bull website, you will see that the other qualifying snowboarding events are still going on as scheduled. So, even though it isn't stated absolutely that the protests are why the event was cancelled, we can probably figure that out.
WILL EVENTS CONTINUE TO BE CANCELLED IN THE METRO AREA
Hopefully things won't continue to be cancelled, but there is zero guarantee that this will end any time soon. So, if/when you do venture into the twin cities area, especially Minneapolis, just bring some identifcation, as recommended by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
