Tri County Humane Society isn't letting the pandemic rain on their parade. They've decided to make the 2020 Companion Walk a virtual experience this year.

"Compassion isn't canceled" and our central Minnesota fur babies still need your love and support. So, what is a virtual walk and how will it work?

Great question! It's a walk you can do on your own from home or wherever you choose. Tri County suggests you start your walk with everyone on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. But, you can do it anytime on your treadmill, around the neighborhood, etc.

The theme is superheroes, so you're encouraged to dress up your kids, your pets and yourself and walk in costume! Tri County ask you submit your photos on their Facebook event page to be entered to win prizes.

According to Tri County's website, the animal shelter provides services for over 3,000 animals annually, "each pet is evaluated, examined, given appropriate vaccinations and de-wormings, spayed/neutered, treated for ailments and injuries as needed, and given lots of TLC."

Funds raised through the Companion Walk will help support the ongoing efforts of these programs.
