Hosting Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis in 2018 may seem like centuries ago to us, but to the rest of the world it made quite the positive impression.

Luxury travel and lifestyle magazine Conde Nast Traveler recently revealed the results of its annual People's Choice Best Cities in the U.S. awards, and Minneapolis soared into the top 10.

CNT notes that some 600,000 registered readers voted for their favorite cities in this year's 32nd annual survey. In fact, they received so many submissions that they decided to recognize two lists -- best small cities (population 350,000 or less) and large cities (population over 350,000).

The Top 10 Best Small Cities in the U.S. in 2019 as named by Conde Nast Traveler's readers are:

  1. Charleston, SC
  2. Santa Fe, NM
  3. Alexandria, VA
  4. Savannah, GA
  5. Key West, FL
  6. Aspen, CO
  7. Monterey, CA
  8. Chattanooga, TN
  9. Greenville, SC
  10. Santa Barbara, CA

Making its way into the list of Top 10 Best Large Cities, Minneapolis ranked #2.

"First, it landed on Traveler's list of Best Places to Go in 2018," notes CNT, "and now it's back for a turn on our readers' beloved big cities list. Sure, it helps that the city hosted Super Bowl LII; but football season came and went, and travelers are still raving about it."

CNT goes on to praise Minneapolis attractions like the Guthrie Theater, Walker Art Museum, and park system, 10+ James Beard Award semifinalists and winners, Prince's Paisley Park and "Minnesota Nice" culture.

The Top 10 Best Large Cities in the U.S. in 2019 as named by CNT readers are:
