UNCOMFORTABLE SILENCE

Okay. This is getting uncomfortable. I was really, really hoping that since the expiration date is quickly approaching, our final Minnesota Millionaire Raffle winner would have come forward, but alas, they have not.

If the winner doesn't come forward, what happens to the money? Prizes that go unclaimed for 12 months are put into the state's general fund.

The winning unclaimed ticket was purchased at Coborn's grocery store in Delano. There were two million-dollar winners last year, but at this point, only one of them has been claimed.

WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW CAN'T HURT YOU RIGHT?

I know that I didn't purchase my tickets at that store, so there's no way those funds are mine. But I think of everyone who purchased their tickets at that store. How many people checked their numbers and didn't check them twice? Or did someone buy one as a gift for someone else, and when they found out they were a winner, did chaos erupt amongst family members and they destroyed the ticket?

I'm speculating. They say 'What you don't know can't hurt you.'

If the owner of that ticket knows they won, but can't find the ticket; it makes me sick. If they do no know, that would be the best scenario.

Are you playing this year? Did you put your tickets in a safe place? Have you decided what you would do with the money you would receive? Would you pay off your house? Would you put the money away? Would you spend it?
