This weekend marks the start of Halfway Jam 2015 featuring Skillet, Puddle of Mudd, Saving Abel and many more. Anthony Bourdain will also be talking about his travels at the State Theater in Minneapolis, and GRAMMY nominated John McCutcheon will performing in Sartell. Sunday marks another concert in the Music in the Gardens series as well as the Memorial Release of the Butterflies.

    It's time for Halfway Jam. The four day show continues tonight and through the weekend. Gates open at 3:00 p.m. today. Platinum FM and Free Fallin will have performances on the Westside Stage, while Autograph, Vertical Horizon, and Night Ranger perform on the Main Stage. Gates open at noon on Friday. The concerts feature Pandemic, High Octane, VIA, and ONE on the Westside Stage while LIT, Hinder, and Puddle of Mudd hit the main stage. Finally on Saturday performances on the Westside Stage include: Fifth Hour, Lamp Shade Betty, Seazon of the Fly, Ivy Stone, Azure Road, and Blimp. Skillet, Saving Abel, and Filter will be on the Main Stage. Gates open at noon on Saturday.

    Anthony Bourdain: Close to the Bone

    State Theater - Minneapolis

    The hos of "Parts Unknown", "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations", and "The Layover", Anthony Bourdain will be on stage at the State Theater in Minneapolis for one night only. He will be sharing insights about his life, work, and travels around the world. This includes an open question and answer session with the audience. VIP tickets are available which include premier seating, a limited edition tour poster, and access to a post-show meet and greet session with Bourdain at the Marin Restaurant and Bar. Tickets range from $60 to $75 and $200 for VIP tickets. Bourdain will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

    Music in the Gardens - Memorial Release of the Butterflies

    Sunday will features another concert in the Music in the Gardens series at Munsinger Clemens Gardens. Laura Gavianni will be taking the stage at 3:00 p.m. for the concert performance. It will be featuring Zacc Harris on guitar and Graydon Peterson on bass. Before this performance the Memorial Release of the Butterflies will take place at 2:30 p.m. There will be a short program at this time when the names of those being honored will be mentioned. Butterflies will distributed starting at 2:00 p.m. This is a free event.

    There are two more performances in this series featuring Dennis Warner on August 9th, and Monday Night Jazz on August 23rd.

    Hoopla Train

    Pioneer Place - St. Cloud

    The Hoopla Train with Yard Master Yip and his Polkastra will be making a stop at Pioneer Place on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The show features live music, singing, sketch comedy, and feats of amazement. Audience members will sing and dance along to polkas and waltzes during the show, which will also feature a live talent show contest for members of the community. The show at Pioneer Place is the first stop of many for the Hoopla Train. Tickets for this show are $20, and $15 for children/seniors.

    The Hoopla Train is produced by Sod House Theater and feautres Darcey Engen, Nathan Keepers, Elise Langer, Kimberly Richardson, Luverne Seifert, Andrea Wollenberg, Jim Lichtscheidl, and music by the Chmielewski Fun Time Band.

    The train will be touring around Minnesota including another stop in our area in August. The show will be performing in Little Falls on August 27th, 28th, and 29th.

    Summer Music in the Park - John McCutcheon

    Pinecone Central Park - Sartell

    Sartell's free Music in the Park series kicks off tonight with GRAMMY nominated artist John McCutcheon. He will be taking the stage at 7:00 p.m. at Pinecone Central Park. There is a total of four concerts this year including artists Imagine Haggis, Becky Schlegel Trio, and Greg Herriges' New Whirled Band.

    As part of the concert series movies will also be shown at the park. This is the second year the city has done this. Tonight Dirty Dancing will start at 8:30 p.m, and A Bug's Life will be shown on August 13th.
