The First 3 Years Of The Traffic Jam….

Friday January 21st, marks the third anniversary of The Ty James Traffic Jam.  Has it really been three years already?  Yes, it has.  Or as I like to say - it was about three years ago that many of you started cheating on your other radio station.....with me!  OK, so we were never really up to anything that evil, but we have sure had a lot of fun on the way.  You may recall a few of these moments.

I always like when celebrities join me on the show, and for the last two years Santa Claus has been able to come in and spend a December afternoon with me.  What other radio show gives you the chance to talk to Santa, personally?  I was born on Christmas Eve - so he and I go way back.  It is curious, however, that Santa left immediately after my Godfather's Pizza arrived.

What about the afternoon before the big election, when Al Franken decided that the best way to give his run for Senator a boost - was to call The Ty James Traffic Jam!  Hey, good karma is GOOD KARMA!  He won, narrowly, but he won. "I'm Al Franken - and when I'm in St. Cloud - I listen to Ty James on MIX 94.9."  It might not be the truth, but I got him to say it.

It's not the celebs that make the best live radio, however.  It's the moms, dads, teachers, nurses, receptionists, etc.  On October 15, 2009 - Nadine from St. Cloud won $100 from MIX 94.9's Bonus Bucks contest.  $100, not bad, but certainly not the lottery.  Her response, "OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD (as she began to hyper-ventilate), OH MY GOD - I HAVE TO SIT DOWN! (now I'm really getting worried - I'm thinking - don't have a heart attack on me, Nadine).

That afternoon might have been one of the better ones in 'TJTJ' history.  Later that day, we discussed the topic, "Who are bigger liars - men or women?"  Talk about "exploding phones" -- this basically turned into almost two hours of "Call me and tell me how much you HATE YOUR EX", or "My man lies constantly, but I KEEP BELIEVING HIM, ANYWAY".  Isn't it funny how our relationships don't seem so messed up, when we closely examine the problems of others?

And, of course, as a close follower of The Ty James Traffic Jam - you know, and understand, the importance of - NUDE RECREATION WEEK - the 2nd week in July - clothing is completely optional (but you knew that).
