The Exercise Equipment at Gyms is Covered in Gross Bacteria
I shouldn't have read the article on FitRated this morning. I love working out, but I'm a total germaphobe! Now I'll always wear gloves anytime I'm in the gym! Free weights have 34 times more bacteria than a lunch tray at a cafeteria, 64 times more than an average water faucet, and 362 times more bacteria than your toilet seat. The handles on exercise bikes and treadmills were worse! They both had about 40 times as much as a lunch tray, 75 times as much bacteria as a faucet, and over 400 times as much bacteria as your toilet seat.
