A big congratulations to our Teacher of the Week recipient, Mary Orth. Mary is a teacher at All Saints Academy. She was nominated by her sister-in-law Connie Orth. Every teacher has had a tough time during this COVID year, but Mary has had an even more difficult year.  Here is the nomination letter from Connie:

I would like to nominate Mary Orth at All Saints Academy.

Mary has been an amazing teacher for over 30 years, a wife for as long and raised two beautiful children! Mary even works a second job and enjoys baking banana bread if someone needs cheering up!

Recently, she lost her husband who was struggling with his health. She was there for him through many years of sickness. She always found time for others, including her students.

Thank you 96.7 The River for allowing us to recognize and appreciate the hero's in our community. Mary Orth and all teachers continue to give the gift of time, wisdom and patience to students, everyday.

Thank you Mary for all your "gifts". WE are truly blessed!

Nobody knew what this school would hold. Would there be school? If so, in what capacity? We knew the school year started differently than any previous year, and everybody is constantly adjusting to changes due to COVID.

But one thing we knew is that we wanted to continue to recognize teachers in Central Minnesota, no matter how we had to do it. We have been and continue to be ready to adjust to whatever situation presents itself.
