St. John's wins MIAC Title in scores from Saturday area college games

The St. Ben's basketball team is playing two games in San Juan, Puerto Rico this week. The Bennies defeated Caltech 54-41 this morning in their first of 2 games there. Sophia Jonas and Olivia Boily each had 11 points to lead St. Ben's.

St. John's basketball improved to 3-0 in the MIAC and 8-2 overall after posting a 75-61 win at St. Mary's in Winona Wednesday night. The Johnnies led 33-29 at halftime and outscored the Cardinals 42-32 in the 2nd half.

The St. John's basketball is ranked #15 this week in the d3hoops.com Division III men's college basketball poll. The Johnnies were ranked #12 in the first poll issued. St. John's is off to a 4-1 start and will host #21 UW-La Crosse Wednesday, November 27 at 7 p.m. in Sexton Arena.

St. John's basketball captured another MIAC regular season title by finishing the conference regular season 18-2. The Johnnies hold a 20-5 overall record as they get set to play Hamline in the MIAC tournament semifinals in Collegeville Thursday night at 7 p.m.

The St. John's basketball team pushed ahead of Macalester in the MIAC standings after posting a 69-67 win over the Scots in Collegeville Wednesday night. Ryan Thissen led the Johnnies with 19 points and Kooper Vaughn added 16 points.

The St. Ben's basketball team defeated Carleton in St. Joseph Wednesday night 62-55. The Bennies were led in scoring by Carla Meyer with 22 points and Sophia Jonas added 13 points.

The 25th ranked St. John's basketball team lost 84-80 at #15 UW-La Crosse Tuesday night in their season opener. The Johnnies trailed 45-33 at halftime but outscored La Crosse 47-39 in the 2nd half.
