Central Minnesota gymnasts are returning home from this weekend's state tournament with some new hardware.

The Gopher men's hockey team closed out their season with a sweep of Ohio State, the Gopher women's hockey team took the win in game two to advance in the WCHA Tournament, and the Granite City Lumberjacks pulled off a close win to split the series with the Toros on Saturday, while the SCSU softball team, SJU baseball team, and Minnesota Twins all split their doubleheaders. The St. Cloud State men's hockey team fell to Omaha for the series split, and the SCSU women's hockey team got swept by Duluth in the WCHA quarterfinals. The St. John's and St. Ben's hockey teams both lost to Augsburg in the MIAC semifinals, the Gopher men's basketball team lost their 12th straight game, and the St. Cloud Norsemen got swept by the Bruins. On Sunday, the St. Cloud State women's basketball team will make their first appearance in the NSIC Tournament, the St. John's basketball team will try to earn themselves another MIAC title, the Gopher women's basketball team will wrap up their season at Williams Arena, and the Minnesota Timberwolves and Wild will try to find their way back to the win column.

The St. Cloud State University women's hockey team and the Gopher hockey teams each earned their second win of the weekend to secure sweeps on Saturday, while the St. Cloud Norsemen and St. Ben's hockey teams won to earn splits, and the SCSU, CSB, and SJU basketball teams all came out victorious as well. The St. Cloud State men's hockey team came away with a tie in game two against UND, the Gopher basketball teams both suffered losses, and the Granite City Lumberjacks lost back-to-back games for just the second time this season. On Sunday, the Minnesota Wild will look to put together a winning streak when they host Nashville.

Two central Minnesota high school dance teams made it to the final round of the jazz competition at the state tournament Friday.

The University of Minnesota hockey teams and the St. Cloud State University women's hockey team all opened the weekend with game one wins, and the Minnesota Wild held on to beat Dallas in the shootout Friday. The St. Cloud State men's hockey team fell to UND, the St. Ben's hockey team dropped one in overtime to St. Kate's, and the St. Cloud Norsemen and Granite City Lumberjacks both suffered shutout losses. On Saturday, the St. Cloud State basketball teams will close out the regular season with matchups against Crookston, the Gopher basketball teams will take on Big Ten opponents, and the CSB/SJU basketball teams will button up their regular seasons against Bethel.

The SCSU women's hockey team, Gopher women's hockey team, and SJU hockey team all earned ties, while the SCSU women's basketball team, CSB hockey team, and Minnesota Timberwolves all fell to the losing column. On Saturday, the St. Cloud State baseball team will play a doubleheader against Arkansas Monticello, the SCSU softball team will take the field for their first two games of the season, the SJU and CSB basketball teams will host St. Mary's, the Gopher women's basketball team will host Wisconsin, and the Minnesota Wild will take on New Jersey.

The St. Cloud State University baseball team notched their second win of the young season, the St. Ben's hockey team completed the weekend sweep of St. Mary's, and the Granite City Lumberjacks topped Gillette on Saturday. The St. Cloud State men's hockey team earned their second tie of the weekend against Miami University at Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Meanwhile, the St. Cloud Norsemen fell to Bismarck in the shootout, the Gopher women's hockey team was blown out by Ohio State, the Gopher men's basketball team floundered against Maryland, the SCSU women's hockey team fell in Wisconsin, the SCSU basketball teams came up short in Moorhead, the SJU hockey team lost in Winona, and the CSB and SJU basketball teams were outplayed by Hamline. On Sunday the Minnesota Timberwolves will go head-to-head with the Western Conference-leading Denver Nuggets and the Gopher women's basketball team will visit Illinois for the second matchup between the teams this season.
