Central Minnesotans celebrated their Norwegian heritage at a local park this weekend.

Gingerbread Wonderland has been going on for eight years now, and is inspired by a tradition in Norway.

I'll be the first to admit I tend to dread winter in Minnesota, and I spend too much time complaining about and suffering through it. If you do, too, then perhaps this can be the year we learn to embrace winter and all it has to offer.

Just this morning, as I was freezing my butt off, I asked "Why do we live in Minnesota?" The answer is because the Norwegian stock we come from is totally insane. Oh wait, no.....it's the vodka!
