The victim and her unborn child died at a hospital after the deadly collision Sunday night.

A recent incident in Carver County, Minnesota, highlighted the risks of impaired driving as law enforcement arrested a driver speeding at over 100 miles per hour with a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.

Recreational marijuana became legal in Minnesota August 1st. Stearns County Sheriff Steve Soyka joined me on WJON to discuss what, if anything has changed. He says they have seen limited changes in the amount of marijuana issues since the law change which he says is a "good thing".

This doesn't just apply to alcohol, but also to both legal and illegal drugs.

"Early this morning, our night shift officers arrested a 38-year-old man for DWI while operating a Bobcat drunk while he was plowing snow."

A Minnesota driver's drunken spree led police off-road and even included a dangerous stretch on train tracks.
