I remember when I first learned that Kelly Clarkson would be hosting the 2018 Billboard Music Awards; "Ugh," I thought, "they couldn't have found someone better?" (Clearly, I wasn't much of a fan). After last night's award ceremony, however, I'm absolutely convinced that she was the right person to host.

Five Sartell police officers were honored this (Monday) evening for their roles in helping to deliver a baby and saving a life last month. Sergeant Kelly Mader, Officer Steve Matthews and Officer John Lester were presented with the Stork Award and Officers Rob Lyon and Kari Bonfield were honored with the Life Saving Award.

Over 100 Sartell business leaders and citizens came to honor the Sartell citizen, senior volunteer and business of the year last week. The citizen of the year was awarded to Joe Schulte, the retired volunteer of the year was given to Jim Wasdyke and Sartell Pediatrics was presented the business of the year award. The banquet also raised $2000 to go towards four scholarships.

If anything, watching the Golden Globes made me realize how behind I am on watching everything else lol. There were a number of shows and movies that were nominated that have really peaked my interest.
