The kickoff of summer for many of us is this weekend. Explore Minnesota's Alyssa Hayes joined me on WJON. She suggested the "Kickoff to Summer at the Minnesota State Fair" which goes from May 26-30. Hayes says this is the 2nd year this event is taking place.

Explore Minnesota's Alyssa Hayes joined me on WJON this week. She discussed the Art in Bloom MIA event in Minneapolis going on from Thursday-Sunday. The Mid West Music Fest is taking place in Winona April 29-30 and the WorldFest is happening in Marshall this Saturday.

Target Center is hosting the NCAA women's basketball final four this week. Alyssa Hayes from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON. Hopkins High School graduate Paige Bueckers is one of the top players for Connecticut who play Stanford Friday night at 8:30 p.m.

Minnesota has many locations in the state to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. This includes a St. Patty's Day parade in Marty, Minnesota at 1pm Saturday March 12. Alyssa Hayes from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON today.

Detroit Lakes has an ice palace as part of their winter festival called "Polar Fest". Explore Minnesota's Alyssa Hayes joined me on WJON today. She says this palace is available through February 27th.

Holiday festivals are everywhere in the state of Minnesota here in early December. Alyssa Hayes from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON today. She highlighted many ways people throughout the state and can enjoy the holidays.

Central Minnesota is experiencing peak fall colors. Explore Minnesota's Alyssa Hayes joined me on WJON today. She says Central Minnesota is at peak now and will likely stay there for another 2 weeks or so. Hayes says northwest and northeast Minnesota are past peak.

Minnesota can be beautiful in Autumn with fall colors and traveling could be a good idea to better experience this. Alyssa Hayes from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON today. She says fall colors are popping in northern Minnesota and moving south quickly.

It is only mid September but the changing of the leaves has already begun in extreme northern Minnesota. Alyssa Hayes from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON today from International Falls, Minnesota. She says she is seeing many signs of fall there with the beginning of fall colors.
