2-Cent Tuesday

The tent encampment on the Lincoln Center property on the east side of St. Cloud was talked about quite a bit during the St. Cloud City Council meeting Monday night and WJON listeners expressed their thoughts during our "2-Cent Tuesday" program today.

Wednesday September 19th is National pepperoni pizza day. According to numerous sources pepperoni is the most popular pizza topping followed by mushrooms, sausage, extra cheese, onions, black olives and green peppers.

The St. Cloud area has a wealth of great bars/restaurants and eating options but each year new restaurant options open up. Today on WJON's 2-Cent Tuesday program listeners had some suggestions on restaurants that either used to be in St. Cloud or have never been here.

The city's of St. Paul and Minneapolis have instituted a mask mandate to deal with the increase in COVID-19 cases. CentraCare spokesman Dr. George Morris went to local civic leaders, which includes St. Cloud area mayors, to ask them to institute a mask mandate indoors at public places like restaurants, bars, grocery stores and retail establishments late last week.

Minnesota is one of 19 states pushing to move to daylight savings time permanently. Today on WJON's 2-cent Tuesday listeners weighed in. Listeners were mostly in favor of doing away with switching our clocks in the fall and spring with some citing health reasons.

Sidewalks and bike lanes can be found throughout many Central Minnesota neighborhoods but do we have enough? Today on WJON's 2-Cent Tuesday program many listeners weighed in on the issue.

President Biden directed U.S. Military troops to be pulled out of Afghanistan and with that removal the Taliban has moved in and taken over leadership of the country. Today on WJON's 2-Cent Tuesday the majority of our listeners feel it is a mistake to remove troops from Afghanistan.

Today on WJON's 2-Cent Tuesday we talked about the trend of businesses and schools requiring a COVID-19 vaccine. Are vaccine mandates appropriate or is this overstepping? A listener took it a step further suggesting the Federal government should impose a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

Today on WJON's 2-cent Tuesday program listeners weighed in on an increased homeless population in the St. Cloud area. The topic surfaced in part due to the Lincoln Center Homeless shelter on Lincoln Ave on the southeast side of St. Cloud. Listeners offered numerous theories as to why we have more homeless in the St. Cloud area.
