Survey Says: More Minnesotans Eat “Supper” Over “Dinner”
Language -- and the differences from home to home, state to state and region to region -- can be a funny thing.
Take, for instance, the last meal of the day -- dinner.
Or is it supper...?
We called it dinner in my Illinois home growing up; supper always seemed like such a formal term to me.
Curious to know what Central Minnesotans call it, we took to Mix 94.9's Facebook page with a poll.
Turns out, most Central Minnesotans eat supper...barely. As you can see from the results below, it was a pretty close vote.
So, just for fun, how would you say this: They served pop/soda and hotdish/casserole for dinner/supper.
