Support Local Businesses: Jules Bistro [LISTEN]

It's more important now more than ever to support local businesses like bars and restaurants during the shut down.

Every weekday morning at 8 a.m. we'll be visiting with a local restaurant operator to find out how they are doing during the pandemic. We'll check-in and find out what specials they're running, how you can order for delivery, take-out our curbside pickup.

Today, were joined on the show by Donella Westphal, owner of Jules Bistro in downtown St. Cloud. 

Like all restaurants, they're currently closed for dining, but they've got their full menu available for takeout. "From 8 to 11 in the morning we offer a full espresso menu and a variety of pastries from our in-house bakery." They're known for their hand-crafted espresso drinks.

From 11 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. they're open for takeout. This week they're starting something new for busy families. You can order one of their family style meals online and pick it up on whatever day of the week works best for you.

"We're really well-known for using incredibly high quality and fresh ingredients. We make everything from scratch. Our soups and our chilis are amazing. we almost never make the same one twice," confessed Westphal.

She went on to say that their pizzas are different from what you'll find in most places in the St. Cloud area because they're more like a thin flat bread.

There's something on the menu that will fit just about everyone's dietary needs. They've got vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options.

If you have more of a sweet tooth, you'll want to make sure to try their baked-from-scratch cakes, scones and cookies.

They've also partnered with another local business to create one of their fan favorite sandwiches. Their panini sandwich is made with fresh bread that comes from the Backwards Bread Company in St. Cloud.

You can help Jules Bistro during the shutdown by also buying gift cards to the restaurant. You can buy them online and get them mailed right to you or you can pick them up at the store.

They update their website and social media pages frequently with specials. That's one of the best ways to stay connected to what's going on at the restaurant.

Jules Bistro is located at 921 W St Germain Street in St. Cloud. You can call in your order at (320) 252-7125 or place it online. They're closed on Sundays and Mondays.
