Support Local Businesses: Green Mill Restaurant & Bar [LISTEN]

It's more important now than ever to support local businesses like bars and restaurants during the shut down.

Every weekday morning at 8 a.m. we'll be visiting with a local restaurant operator to find out how they are doing during the pandemic. We'll check-in and find out what specials they're running, how you can order for delivery, take-out our curbside pickup.

Today, were joined on the show by Jill Welch with The Green Mill Restaurant and Bar in downtown St. Cloud.

They're working with a more COVID-19 friendly menu. Welch says, "Mostly what we're offering are things that we know we can serve fresh all of the time … anybody in the industry right now is kind of after the same thing. "

They're still offering a variety of salads, pizzas, wings, pastas, burgers and more. For the month of December you can take advantage of their 'Date Night At Home' dinner special. When you pick up a couple of pastas or a burger and pasta, they're giving you a free bottle of house wine.

"Normally I can't do that but this is the cool part of where we're at right now. I've got a lot of house wine and I'd love to give it out to people," said Welch.

Another special they're running this month is  the 'Family Meal Deal'. For $29.99 you get two pizzas, wings, soda and cheese bread. Welch says, "that's a really good option for people looking to stick within a budget right now."

On Tuesdays deep dish pizzas are half off. "We run daily specials all of the time. We're always willing to come up with a really good deal for people," Welch added.

Over Christmas, the Green Mill will be offering a ready to eat after you re-heat dinner to-go. It'll be similar to the promotion they ran over Thanksgiving. Welch mentioned, "It's the same type of meal, offered in the same way at about the same price point. We're going to stick around the $70 mark to make it nice and affordable."

The Green Mill is open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. for takeout. They're open daily from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. for delivery. You can get your food delivered by ordering directly through Green Mill's website or via Door Dash.

Welch ended with, "Any support for my family and the industry is great. I say, go out and support any restaurant you can right now...Let's have some fun and promote any small business you possibly can that's really suffering this time of year."
