Support Local Businesses: Fisher’s Club In Avon [LISTEN]

It's more important now than ever to support local businesses like bars and restaurants during the shut down.

Today, were joined on the show by Jake Voss, from Fisher's Club in Avon. They're a traditional supper club on the shores of Middle Spunk Lake.

The supper club is known for their feel good, home cooked meals.  Voss says their walleye is the number one seller. You can also order steaks, ribs, shrimp, burgers, sandwiches and appetizers. "We have a really popular appetizer, which is a fried pickle. We take full pickle spheres and bread them ourselves," said Voss.

The restaurant is currently offering up their full menu for takeout and curbside pickup. Additionally, they've got a 'take home meal' special that's perfect for a family of four. It's a hot-and-ready-to-serve meal that includes various lasagna and hot dish options. Another carry-out deal they've started promoting is the 'heat meat' special. It's a frozen meal you can warm up in your own oven or you can request the restaurant to bake it off for you.

Voss said the meals are, "priced friendly, so it works out nice for a family of four."

For the holidays they're selling a Christmas dinner to-go meal which includes; slow roasted and sliced brisket, hickory smoked pit ham, seasoned mashed red potatoes and gravy, green beans almondine, roasted corn and bacon, homemade mac and cheese and dinner rolls.

Christmas dinner add-ons include; half or full rack of BBQ ribs, marinated shrimp cocktail, key lime pie, fudge brownie, cheesecake and peppermint kissed pie (by the slice or whole).

You can order a serving for two for $38, a serving for four for $76, a serving for six for $114 or a serving of up for up to eight for $152. You must pre-order by Monday, Dec. 21 by 12 p.m.

Another way you can support Fisher's Club is by purchasing gift cards. They're available online, in-person or by calling the restaurant.

Voss says the community has been "such a big support for us through this and through the years that we've owned Fisher's. We just want to be there to be able to support them as well."

They're open Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
