It's more important now more than ever to support local businesses like bars and restaurants during the shut down.

Every weekday morning at 8 a.m. we'll be visiting with a local restaurant operator to find out how they are doing during the pandemic. We'll check-in and find out what specials they're running, how you can order for delivery, take-out our curbside pickup.

Today, were joined on the show by Scott Widor, co-owner of Blue Line Sports Bar & Grill with his wife Esther Widor. They've got two restaurant locations, one in St. Cloud and another in Sartell.

Blue Line is known for having a really large menu filled with all things ranging from BBQ and smoked meat to sandwiches and chicken alfredo dishes. Widor says, " We sell a lot of BBQ type items. We smoke our own meats, we make our own sauce from scratch. Our burnt ends are somewhat unique."

Their burnt ends recipe is an inspiration Scott had when he was in Kansas City. He enjoyed it so much that he incorporated the recipe into his menu. "I refer to it as meat candy," Scott laughs.

Many people don't know this, but Blue Line's chicken alfredo recipe is 100 years old. "We pride ourselves and not being your average sports bar … everything around here is homemade," said Widor.

The restaurant is open for takeout, curbside pickup and even through a third party delivery service like Food Dudes. You can also support the restaurant by buying gift cards, "we have an incredible community here. We're selling a ton of gift cards," added Widor.

Another way to support The Blue Line is by ordering catering. It's a safe way to treat your office and local essential workers, especially over the holidays. 'I don't have a specific menu, Widor said, 'it's all made to order. We can do anything as simple as a taco bar … we did a wedding with lobster tails and ribeye."

They're open daily from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"Make sure to go out and support all local businesses during this incredibly difficult time," Scott said, "because, you know, being shut down for  potentially 5 months out of the year is not easy on anybody...Hopefully when we do get back to normal, a number of us are still around."

The Blue Line Sports Bar & Grill is located at 1101 2nd Street South in Sartell and at 1004 Sunridge Drive in St. Cloud.
