St. Joseph Gears Up For Joe Boys Poker Run
ST. JOSEPH -- Motorcycles, games and food will be the highlights of this year's 6th annual Joe Boys Poker Run.
The run kicks off tomorrow (Saturday) at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Legion.
The event is a motorcycle run where participants stop at stations throughout St. Joseph, Freeport, St. Martin, Grey Eagle and Rockville to collect stamps on a stamp card. At the end, the stamps are exchanged for five cards and the person with the best set of cards wins a prize.
Joe Boys Poker Run Chairman, Josh Schmitz says it's not exclusively a motorcycle run.
"It's primarily a motorcycle run but if you have a street rod or rat rod or anything else you want to drive you are welcome," says Schmitz.
The run will also feature a hog roast that begins at 5:00 p.m.
Schmitz says last year they raised over $7,500 for the American Cancer Society.
"We can only hope that we improve every year, so last year we raised $7,500, [this year] we'd like to increase from that."
The event is free for anyone to attend and donations are encouraged.
All proceeds from the run will go to benefit the Coborn Cancer Center.
