St. John’s Hosting Annual Maple Syrup Festival
COLLEGEVILLE - It's maple syrup season. Saint John's Outdoor University is hosting their annual "Maple Syrup Festival" in the Abbey Arboretum this Saturday. It will run from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The festival includes: tours and sap collection, tapping demonstrations, and hot maple syrup sundaes.
Register by noon on Friday and save $1 per person. Walk-ins are welcome on Saturday.
Maple syruping has been a tradition at Saint John's since the 1940s, when sugar shortages prompted the monastery to learn the maple syrup production process.
