YES! It's the day we've all been waiting for...you can park on the street and not worry about getting a ticket. Woot woot! We made it through another winter, St. Cloud.

Winter parking restrictions in St. Cloud start on November 1st each year and continue through April 1st. This isn't an April Fool's joke.

During winter parking restriction season, you could be towed, get a ticket, etc. if you're parked in violation of the city's ordinance.

And, it doesn't matter if there's snow on the ground or not. During the seasonal parking ban from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. you don't want to be in violation.

On Odd number days you want to park on the even side of the street. On even numbered days you want to park on the odd side of the street. It seems a little backwards, but that's how it is.

Now, if a snow emergency is declared or there's snow on the road, you need to not be parked on the road.

Also, if the street is less than 32 feet wide, you can't park on the road any time according to the City of St. Cloud's website.

Now, this doesn't mean you can park everywhere now that we're out of the seasonal parking ban. Some areas still have parking restrictions. The SCSU neighborhood's parking ban is in effect year round and signs are posted in the neighborhoods.

If you're ever in doubt, it's best to call the city or local law enforcement and ask. A quick phone call might save you from a ticket.
