Hamilton's Minneapolis run may have just ended, but Minnesotans have another chance to see a New York performance this week, and this one for free!

New York Public Theater's touring company -- who goes by the name Mobile Unit -- will be in Minnesota this week for three free performances of their show Sweat.

Sweat is an "extraordinarily moving drama" (The New York Times) by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage.

According to the website's synopsis:

SWEAT tells the story of a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets and laughs while working together on the line of a factory floor. But when layoffs and picket lines begin to chip away at their trust, the friends find themselves pitted against each other in the hard fight to stay afloat."

This year is the first time the New York-based company has performed out of state; their three Minnesota stops conclude a Midwest tour. Making the show further unique, Mobile Unit trades its theater stage space for local neighborhood venues such as libraries, homeless shelters and community centers.

Sweat is recommended for ages 16 and up and does include the use of herbal cigarettes during performances.
