St. Cloud Starbucks Serving New Iced Drinks for Spring [Taste Test]
Today is one of those days where I sacrifice my money and taste buds so you don't have to. Starbucks has come out with their new drinks for spring 2020. This year we get an Iced Pineapple Matcha drink and an Iced Golden Ginger Drink. Naturally I had to taste them both to determine if they are worthy of your time and energy to go get one.
Let's start with the Golden Ginger.
Our golden ginger blend with turmeric essence shaken with flavors of pineapple and ginger, coconut milk and ice for a delicious beverage to lift up your day.
This vibrant yellow drink was VERY ginger forward. Warning: if you're not a fan of ginger, steer clear. I think because of all the ginger, it reminded me of being ill. It felt like something I should be drinking to try to feel better after being sick for a week. I think the spice blend just gave it that vibe. It was good. But would I get it again? Not unless I get hit with a spring-time cold.
Now for the Iced Pineapple Matcha.
Our premium matcha green tea shaken with flavors of pineapple and ginger along with coconut milk and ice for a delicious beverage to uplift your day.
Even though this one has ginger in the ingredients, it isn't a flavor that punches you in the face. The whole drink is quite muted and subtle across the board. The pineapple flavor is almost an after taste, and overall it is more of an earthy coconut milk. But that said it is very light and refreshing, and once that first warm day of the season comes this would be an awesome drink to cool down with. I will definitely be ordering this one again, I just don't think it will be in my regular rotation.
