ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud man was arrested early yesterday (Saturday) morning in connection to a robbery that happened last Wednesday at Super America.

Assistant Chief of Police Jeffery Oxton says 33-year-old Ricky Hughes of St. Cloud was arrested without incident.

Last Wednesday at around 8:10 p.m. police responded to a robbery at  the Super America in the 700 block of 33rd avenue north. Police say a man entered the store and confronted the clerk with a knife.

The clerk and the suspect struggled, the suspect struck the clerk causing minor injuries to the clerk.

The suspect fled the scene and  took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. He was also seen to be in possession of a black semi-automatic handgun.

A K9 search attempt was not able to find him. The search ended at 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say the handgun was not recovered at the time of the arrest. The incident is still an active investigation.
