St. Cloud, Maple Grove and Eagan made the list.

Small Business Saturday is coming up, and three Minnesota cities recently made a list of the 50 best cities in the US to start a small business.

Maple Grove, St. Cloud and Eagan made the list compiled by Verizon at No.'s 25, 27 and 29 respectively.

In this study, "small" cities were considered to have populations of 50,000-75,000 and fit a number of criteria including education, travel time to work, income per capita, broadband access, and tax scores. 300 cities made the final list, which was narrowed down to top 50.

The Top 10 cities to start a small business are:

1. Portland, Maine
2. Weston, FL
3. Missoula, MT
4. Southfield, MI
5. Delray Beach, FL
6. South Jordan, UT
7. Kissimmee, FL
8. Rochester Hills, MI
9. Rapid City, SD
10. Bismarck, ND
