St. Cloud Girl Has Heart Transplant & Wants To Meet Ellen [UPDATE]

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Our dear friend Jaidah has received her heart! Yay! We've been following Jaidah's journey on "Jaidah's Journey" Facebook page. What an amazing time this is. Jaidah woke up four hours after her surgery, requesting to see a picture of herself, and said, "Wow! I'm Ok!" You can go to Jaidah's Journey on Facebook to see for yourself what's been happening.

Jaidah's made the request to meet Ellen DeGeneres. SO! Chad and I want to do all we can to make that happen!

Jaidah and her mother, sister, and her mom's best friend visited us in the studio to share Jaidah's story several months ago. Jaidah Ruedy had her life change after simple flu like symptoms in February. After several trips to the St. Cloud hospital, Jaidah had blood drawn and chest x-rays done. The results showed 2 blood cots in her left ventricle. Her heart and liver were enlarged and her lungs were filling with fluid. She was admitted to the U of M- Masonic Children's Hospital on March 9th. She has since had a Left Ventricle Assist Device put in to pump the blood thru her heart. She was on a waiting list for a new heart. At the time of our last story, Jaidah had been in the hospital over 184 days.

The family has been left with little to no income due to her care and treatment.
