ST. CLOUD -- A $1,000 reward is now being offered for information to identify the person or person's responsible for shooting a dog six times.

If you have information, please contact the Stearns County Sheriff's Office at 320-251-4250 or the CrimeStoppers at 320-255-1301.

Just days after a horrible and heart-breaking incident, a yellow lab remains in good spirits.

"You would anticipate he would be leery of people or have some fears but he is just as eager to get love and give love back as any dog I have ever met," says Anna Stratton with the Tri-County Humane Society.

Remington, as he is known at the Tri-County Humane Society, was shot six times with a pellet gun (four times in the head and twice in the hind quarters) calling for immediate surgery.

"Along with his wounds he has a severe broken jaw, he can't eat any solid food. He is also on pain management and antibiotics," says Stratton.

Remington is on a long road to recovery, which could be roughly 6-8 weeks.

Stratton and the rest of the staff are doing what they can to make sure Remington is comfortable, including tracking down his owners or finding a new family.

"We have about a week or so to try and find his owners, if that doesn't happen then he becomes property of the Humane Society and we will go through the adoption process," says Stratton.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Department are investigating the case, looking for the owners and identifying the person responsible.

"He is just looking for a little bit of love and it appears he has plenty to give back," says Stratton.
