4 Great Spots To Grab A Bite To Eat Along The Soo Line Trail

Weekends are for riding, that's the summer philosophy at our house. More often than not, my family finds itself riding the Soo Line Trail, and while it's great to take in the sights along the trail, if you ride long enough and far enough, you get hungry. I've got four great spots along the Soo Line for you to stop at the next time you find yourself hungry on the trail.

Pour Lewey's - McGrath, Minnesota

Pour Lewey's, located in McGrath, is a haul to get to from the trailhead, but if you love to spend time on the Soo Line, it's a great place to stop and stretch your legs after riding around Redtop. This is a no-frills kinda place, they've got cheap beer, pop, and some 'normal' bar fare like burgers. You'll find Pour Lewey's Saloon at 104 S Highway 65, McGrath, not too far off the Soo Line.

Beckham's Bar & Bistro - Isle

Beckham's Bar & Bistro in Isle is another great small-town stop, found just off the Soo Line in downtown Isle. My wife and I try to get to Beckham's a few times a year. We love their burgers, and they also have some FANTASTIC homemade potato salad to go with their relaxed atmosphere. You'll find random specials written on the chalkboard when you arrive, so be sure to ask what they recommend when you order. Hillman Bar & Grill - Hillman, MN

The Hillman Bar and Grill must be part Sasquatch, as I couldn't find a picture of it on my phone or available online. So if it's that hidden, you know it's gotta be good! What I enjoy about this stop is that it isn't far off from where we get on and off the trail in Genola, so it's a frequent stop for us when we are heading home for the day to grab a water, some apps, and play the hanging quarter game. (those that know, know what I'm talking about) The Hillman Bar and Grill is located at 37297 168th St, Hillman, MN 56338

Silver Bullet Bar & Grill - Genola

The Silver Bullet is the best place to sit down for a quick bite to eat after a long and HOT day on the trails. I swear this is the 'coolest' bar on the Soo. If you get cold easily, you should bring a sweatshirt along; otherwise, the food has always been top-notch, and the locals are always friendly. You can find the Silver Bullet at 25929 Meadow Lark Rd, Genola, MN 56364

*If the Bullet is full, which can happen on the weekend, you've got Rudy's Road House and the Red Rooster in the area to grab a bite or to stretch your legs.
