Sheriff: Computer Scam Locks Your Computer
LONG PRAIRIE -- Another computer scam for you to watch for.
The Todd County Sheriff's office says a resident responded to a pop-up ad to allow virus software to be installed on her home computer.
After the install, the computer locked. Now the scammers are demanding $3,000 for a password to unlock the computer.
