Congrats to our latest Teacher of the Week -- Joan Nichols!

Mrs. Nichols is a special education teacher at Royalton Elementary and was nominated by her daughter Janae. Here's what Janae had to say about her mom:

My mom Joan always goes above and beyond to make sure all of her students and all of the students in general, get the best education they can. All of the elementary students love my mom. No matter where we are, if we see one of her students, she always says hi and gives them a hug. She works so well with other teachers, and the young teachers always look to my mom for guidance. My mom has been teaching special education for 22 years, 21 of them being at Royalton. I have seen her grow bonds with so many students and truly change the lives of so many of them. She even dresses up as our school mascot and dances around for the students at school assemblies, and they love it! She always puts everyone else's needs above hers and is one of the best teachers I have ever seen. She also coached JV softball for 10 years. She quit this year so she could spend more time watching me and my sister play softball and go visit my brother more. She is not just an amazing teacher, but an amazing mother and just an amazing person over all. Royalton would not be the same with her.

We surprised Mrs. Nichols at her classroom, which you can see in the video below.

Congratulations Mrs. Nichols, and thanks for all the work you do at Royalton Elementary! Thanks also to our fantastic supporters who help make our teachers feel loved and appreciated: Concrete Image Hair Salon, Coyote Moon Grille, Great Harvest Bread Company and All-Star Trophy & Awards!
