Riverview Intermediate School is Home to Our Teacher of the Month!
This week is the annual Minnesota Education Academy, which is an annual conference for educators hosted by the states teacher’s union. Teachers who choose can attend this conference, while the students get their fall break.
So, this week seemed like a good week to present our first Teacher of the Month for the 2024-25 school year.
Yesterday morning I made my way to Riverview Intermediate School in Sartell for the presentation. The administration at the school worked with me so we could make the surprise presentation to Jill Ambroiser.
Mrs. Ambroiser teaches fourth grade at the school. And I wasn’t at the school for just a few minutes when I saw the effect she has on her students.
One of her students from last year was invited to help be a part of the surprise which says a lot. But while I was in the class, several students walked by the door to say hey to one of their favorite teachers.
The entry for Mrs. Ambroiser came from a current student's mom who says that every student feels welcome and safe in Mrs. Ambroiser’s class.
She creates a fun and relatable atmosphere that has her child excited and eager to go to school each day.
When I made the announcement that she was the Teacher of the Month, the excitement from her class was both visible and audible. “I’m a hugger” Mrs. Ambroiser said giving me a hug, and you could tell her students feel their teachers love the way they all gathered around to look at her prizes.
When it came time to get a picture of Mrs. Ambroiser, she was all for having her class in the picture as well. Her class was so proud their teacher had won this honor.
I left there convinced that not only is Mrs. Ambroiser a good teacher, but she is also a difference-making teacher. A teacher is planting seeds in her students that will continue to grow long after this school year is finished.
One of the things I enjoy the most is to see the table’s turned on teachers who always put their students first, and the teacher becomes the one who is front and center.
It was a well-deserved honor for Mrs. Ambroiser! Thank You to Principal Zach Dingman and Assistant Principal Brittney Schoephoerster, who served as my escort to Mrs. Ambroiser’s class and took the pictures.
