If you are an adventure fan, you have one less option. Trollhaugen's Adventure Park, which featured ziplines, won't be opening up anytime soon. The ski hill made the announcement on social media, surprising lots of thrill-seekers and fans of the park.

What's going on at Trollhaugen?

The news of the adventure park, which had been open for 12 years, took many by surprise. The silver lining in this announcement is that Trollhaugen, the ski hill, will be back for its 76th year this winter.

After twelve wonderfully adventurous years, we have made the challenging decision to permanently close the Trollhaugen Adventure Park effective immediately. Many factors and possible solutions were considered, but ultimately, rising operating costs like insurance & equipment replacement will not allow us to continue without significantly raising ticket prices, and that is not something we believe in doing.

As we know firsthand, this is an emotional decision for our team, and we want to give a big thank you to all of our amazing staff and visitors that joined us at the Adventure Park since it’s creation in 2012. We will continue to celebrate the wonderful memories that we made with each and every one of you Troll loving humans.

We hope you enjoy new adventures this summer, and we look forward to seeing you in the fall for our 76th Winter Season on snow together.

While not located in Minnesota, Trollhaugen is found just across the Saint Croix in Dresser, Wisconsin, and has been a popular winter and summer destination for action and thrill seekers.

Personally, Trollhaugen has always been a fun day trip for my wife and me. We did our first mud run there, a grueling 10k that benefited MS research. It taught us some valuable life lessons, like reading the full advertisement (my wife thought it was originally a mud truck event like MUDFEST).

Since then, we often go back to ski or tube...

While the closure is sad, it makes sense from a business standpoint.

When will Trollhaugen open for the season?

October is when Trollhaugen is expected to open in 2025.
