Paynesville Police Investigating Deadly Fire

PAYNESVILLE -- One person is dead after a fire in Paynesville Tuesday night.

The Paynesville Police Department says they responded to a fire shortly before 7:00 p.m. at 420 Minnie Street Trailer 20. According to the caller, a man was allegedly inside the trailer dumping gasoline and then lit it on fire.

When police arrived the entire trailer was engulfed. Authorities say a woman was found inside the home and taken to Paynesville Hospital where she later died. Her name has not been released.

Police also say they arrested a man at the scene. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of his injuries and then brought to the Stearns County Jail. He faces charges of second-degree murder.
