Old Farmers Almanac Predicting a Rainy and Cool April for Minnesota
April showers bring May flowers, but it has to be warm enough for those flowers to bloom. The Old Farmers Almanac is predicting a wet and cold month for April.
Dates | Weather Conditions |
---|---|
Apr 1-6 | Snow, then sunny, cold |
Apr 7-10 | Rainy periods, mild |
Apr 11-14 | Snow, then sunny, cool |
Apr 15-24 | Rainy periods, cool |
Apr 25-30 | Showers, turning warmer |
April | temperature 40° (2° below avg.) precipitation 4" (2" above avg.) |
Here is the thing with these prediction outlines, they're not set in stone. The Old Farmers Almanac is based on a theory that weather is a result of magnetic storms on the sun's surface, and the forecasts are predicted based on a formula at their headquarters.
But that said, the weekend of April 11th - 14th has produced a major snow storm the past two years in a row. Both 2018 and 2019 had significant snow fall over that weekend of the year, so the almanac predicting snow over that week makes sense, and is very possible. Unfortunately that is also Easter weekend and could hinder some travel plans.
I love a good rainy day, and as long as there are a few days of sunshine mixed in (preferably on the weekends) let it rain all April long. We will keep an eye on the forecast for you on the Mix 94.9 app.
