A new Facebook group called Farm Direct Minnesota is helping people buy products directly from the farm in an effort to help local farmers. They've been hit hard and Minnesotans are stepping up to do their part.

In the about section of the group page it says, "Farmers are hurting all over. A lot of people who would love to buy products directly from the farm don't know how or where to look."

Farm Direct Minnesota was inspired by Farm Direct Wisconsin which essentially does the same thing. It pairs people who aren't really sure where to get local farm products, directly with the farmers.

If you're a farmer selling products, or a consumer looking to buy products directly from a farm, you're encouraged to post to the groups page. Currently, the group has nearly 1.5 thousand members and was created on May 5.

On May 14, Tammy Chris Watson wrote on the group page, "we have butcher beef for sale. Ready in September, October and November. Farm raised on hay, silage, grain and now grass. We're located north of Brainerd Minnesota."

Stacy Marie Homberger posted chickens for sale on Monday, "2.5-3 month old pullets twenty for midnight majesties and Barred Rock. Thirty for sapphire gems. Fifteen for leghorns and red pullets located in Buffalo MN."

It's a really great way to reach out and help out Minnesota farmers during the pandemic. If you've always wanted to raise your own chickens or maybe you've always dreamed of making your own fresh eggs every morning, check out the page!
