Last year at this time I was pregnant and miserable. It's amazing how things can change in a year's time. My son Charlie is turning ONE on October 16.

If you would have told me that he'd just be my little pumpkin patch buddy in less than a year, I wouldn't have believed you. Kids grow so fast, and it's never been more clear than it is now. Now that I have my own child, I really notice a difference.

We went on a fall tour this weekend. Our first stop was the St. Cloud State Husky Football game on Saturday. He helped me pass out cupcakes from the Mixin' It Up Gluten Free Bakery to all of the fans at the tailgate party and of course he hung out with Blizzard. I think the two of them became best friends.

Our next stop was a Sunday trip to the fall festival at Collegeville Orchards. We wanted to scope out the pumpkin patch, meet the animals, listen to some live music and get our annual jar of apple butter. They have so many opportunities to take cute photos with many little selfie stations set up throughout the area.

After our pumpkin patch adventure at the apple orchard, we went on a fall walk throughout St. John's University. It's seriously gorgeous this time of year, and the leaves haven't even hit their peak yet.

We got home, he ate some pot roast, carrots and potatoes for the first time in his life and then helped me decorate our house in true Overlund Halloween fashion.

Charlie LOVED our fall adventure so much and I'm happy to report that he actually slept the entire night last night. Yep, my little guy who likes to wake up 3 times a night at 11 months old actually got a full night of uninterrupted sleep. This is just another reason why fall is the greatest season.
