I love making food at home as much as I can. I seem to have caught a baking bug lately--and I think it's because my body can sense that fall is right around the corner. I've been making cookies, pastas and breads. I recently made artisan bread that is so good you'd think it came from a bakery or restaurant. It's so good that I feel compelled to share it with you. You're going to be SHOCKED at how easy this recipe is and how AWESOME the bread will turn out.

What you'll need:

  • 3 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups of water

THAT'S IT!

Next, you'll want to add all of your ingredients into a glass bowl and stir it up. Don't over stir it though. The dough will NOT be what you expect dough to be. It'll be a lot more goopy and runny. That's a good thing! Cover the dough in plastic and let it sit on your counter for 18-24 hours. It'll be worth the long wait, I promise!

After 18-24 hours, add flour to a clean surface. Use a good amount of flour as this mixture is very sticky. Scoop out all of the dough onto the flour. DO NOT knead the dough. Instead pull in the corners to form a ball. Then, flip the ball over and let it sit for 30 minutes.

While your dough is resting, preheat your oven to 450 degrees. You'll want to put your dutch oven in the oven for 30 minutes without anything in it and covered. After 30 minutes take the dutch oven out of your oven and spray it with cooking spray. Next, use a sharp knife to cut a big X in the middle of your dough ball and then plop in your dutch oven.

Cook the dough covered in the dutch oven for 30 minutes. Then, uncover the bread and cook for another 10 minutes.

THAT'S IT. You'll have the perfect artisan bread.
