Music, Sunshine, and German Guests at ‘Springtime by George’
ST. CLOUD -- Residents and out-of-towners alike enjoyed a beautiful Wednesday evening today at Lake George.
Hundreds of people from central Minnesota were joined by over 70 guests from St. Cloud's Sister city, Spalt, Germany, to enjoy music, food, and beverages at an event dubbed 'Springtime by George.'
Music was performed by the St. Cloud Band, the Meire Grove Band, and the Spalt Band.
"We heard we'd hear great music and so far it's wonderful. We're enjoying the German music, the food and the drinks and we're really loving it.," says Becky, who is visiting St. Cloud from California.
"The weather is warm, there's fun German music, there's beer, there's something to eat, and everything is OK," says Werner, the Spalt bandleader.
"It's a great connection, it's a great way to celebrate community. The weather couldn't be better, the crowd couldn't be better and we have our friends from Spalt here, so it couldn't be better," says Mayor Dave Kleis.
