Families Find A Welcoming Atmosphere & Fresh Tasty Food At Mr. D’s

Sometimes you have a craving; when it's for a hand-pattied, fresh-made burger, you just have to have it.

I had such a craving last week, and I really, really wanted a great burger. A friend suggested that I try Mr. D's in Sartell, so that's exactly what I did.

MEET AMBER AND KENNY DUMPPROPE

I had the pleasure of meeting the owners of Mr. D's last week, and I'm not sure if I've ever met anyone more passionate about opening a business. They had a goal in mind. They wanted to provide fresh food options, with a mouthwatering menu, and have a welcoming atmosphere where everyone in the community could connect over delicious comfort foods. They have created just that. Their doors are wide open, and you and your family, including the kiddos, can all come on in!

Kenny and Amber Dumpprope, longtime members of the Sartell community, are doing just what they set out to do. I was not expecting the quaint, simple atmosphere with the menu options I was seeing. But there it was...all this great fresh food in a place that just feels like the neighborhood hangout.

THE MENU - STARTERS, LUNCH, AND DINNER OPTIONS

I was in the mood for a burger and fries, and one of the first things I learned about Mr. D's is that they hand-cut fresh fries that taste amazing! They are lightly seasoned and just right to go with whatever menu item you want.

THE SMASH PATTY

As I stated earlier, I was in the mood for a really great burger. On their menu? A variety of lunch menu items, all at an affordable $12.99 price point. One of those options was just what I was looking for. A tasty Smash Patty! The Smash Patty is a single or double hamburger, with your choice of cheese (I picked white cheddar) grilled onions, tomato, and butter lettuce, with one of the many Mr. D's sauces on the side, and served on a fresh brioche bun.

I first asked Kenny if I should get a double or a single, but he reminded me how big just a single was, so I stuck with that. I'm glad I did, because I could only finish half of it, and I brought the rest home for my lunch the next day!

HAND-CRAFTED COCKTAILS

I also thought, while I'm here and work is over, why not try one of their handcrafted cocktails? Pictured above was a Pineapple Mojito, served with fresh mint, a splash of soda, and a delightful pineapple flavor. It really hit the spot!

When Mr. D's says they keep it fresh, they really do. Fresh-cut fries, an unbelievably fresh burger patty, and that tasty sauce were a mouthwatering combination of deliciousness.

WHERE AM I?

I also want to comment on the dinner menu and atmosphere. Now, I wasn't there for dinner, but Kenny and Amber have a chef who has years of experience in creating unique and unbelievably tasty foods you may have never tried before.

One of their best-selling Starters is the Whipped Cream and Goat Cheese Dip with Hot Honey and Pita Chips! Everyone says they never thought of having those things together, but once you try it, you can't stop asking for it over and over.

AMAZING DINNER MENU WILL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF

Not only do they have tasty burgers, sandwiches, and starters, but they also have a dinner menu that's a must-try! Things like the Mahi Mahi with Creamy Creole Sauce. Fresh, pan-seared Mahi-Mahi (You can't find this just anywhere!) served with your choice of two sides.

ATMOSPHERE FOR RELAXING FUN

One of the things that surprised me the most is that you can get these decadent menu options, yet feel like you're right at home.; no need to dress up. You can come out with the whole family, play a wide variety of arcade games they have throughout their restaurant, and still get the food that feels like you're being treated at 'Tavern on the Green' in New York.

Did I mention Mr. D's also offers Catering? You’ll work one-on-one with a dedicated catering event coordinator to create a fresh, flavorful spread tailored to your style and guests, for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate lunches, or family celebrations. Their focus is always on delicious food, drinks, and stress-free planning so you can enjoy the day just as much as everyone else.

Kenny informed me that after being open for 6 months, they have now really honed in on what people want. They've added community favorites to the menu and really listened to what the residents of central Minnesota wanted from Mr. D's.
