The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Starring: Georgie Henley, Skandar Keyes, Ben Barnes, Will Poulter

Summary: The third chapter of the Narnia series focuses of the adventures of the two youngest Pevensie children, Lucy and Edmund. They team up with Caspian once more, who is now king of Narnia. On their journey Lucy and Edmund are accompanied by their annoying cousin Eustace. Although he starts out as an obnoxious brat his journey through Narnia, as well as the influence of Aslan, humbles him to become a better person.

To me this movie felt like a cross between the first Narnia movie and the Pirates of the Caribbean.  Perhaps it was because it took place at sea and they had to battle a giant sea serpent.  Personally I was happy for the change in scenery. The only book in the series that I have read is the first one ("The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe") so I don’t know how faithful the sequels have been. I am however enjoying the voyage so far.  Grade: B

Trivia: This film was originally scheduled to shoot in Mexico as well as in Australia. However, since the turmoil in Mexico presented a security risk, the entire shoot was relocated to Australia.

Rated: PG - For frightening images and fantasy action.
