According to Marie Claire Magazine, the kind of flowers you get your sweetie for Valentine's Day can send a message you may not want to be sending.

1. Yellow Tulips - You're hopelessly in love with her, but you're worried she may not be in to you.

2. Orchids - Refined beauty, but can be seen as pretentious.

3. Pink Carnations - Motherly love. Save these for May 8.

4. Coriander - It's a spice and filler for many bouquets, but represents lust, not affection.

5. Peonies - Shame and bashfulness.

Even after reading this list, just remember, buying any kind of flowers is better than no flowers at all.
