'Twas the first Morning Mix with Pete and Jen of 2011! We had another really fun show today. Seriously.

Jen ripped up Pete's Man Card today live on the air because Pete's wife caught him watching the new Oprah Winfrey Network. He says it was "accidental". Pffft. Whatever.

Oprah Winfrey launched her own network on January 1 and the OWN is going to feature 600 hours of new programming selected by the Queen of Daytime herself, for you, the viewer. Expect women oriented programming on health, beauty and family interspersed with romantic movies and reality TV.

Even though we are in the new year, more top ten lists from 2010 keep popping up. We, as movie fans took a minute to glance over the top grossing films of last year based on world-wide box office take. We were shocked at one of them making the list because it was a bit of a stinker, and a few others we were shocked at where they landed, and one was no surprise at all.

#9- (Tie) "Clash of the Titans" and "How To Train Your Dragon" $493 million.

#8 - "Despicable Me" $539 million - It hasn't been out for that long. That's a huge grossing movie!!

#7 - "Iron Man 2" $622 million

#6 - "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" $693 million - Really? That's all?

#5 - "Shrek Forever After" $737 million - Not a very good movie. Panned by viewers and critics alike. We attribute the big money to the fact that it was offered in 3D, which costs extra.

#4 - "Inception" $825 million - The big box office gross was probably due to the fact that some people had to see it again to understand it. No shock here. It's Martin Scorcese.

#3 - "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" $831 million - Imagine how much more cash this behemoth could have raked in if it were released earlier in the summer.

#2 - "Alice in Wonderland" $1.02 billion - Really? Another stinker offered in 3D.

#1 - "Toy Story 3" $1.06 billion - No shock here. Great film. Well done. Worth repeated viewings, although we agreed the 3D option on this one was unnecessary due to the fact that it's Pixar and their work is visually stunning anyway without the help of 3D. I saw it on a crappy little airplane TV and it was still fantastic.

Peter hopped on the scale this morning and found out that his slovenly ways led him to drop two pounds over the holidays! Congratulations to Jesse from St. Cloud! Jesse now gets a Gold's Gym membership and the use of a personal trainer! Way to go!
