MNDOT Selling Structures in Stearns County for Work On Highway 23
In preparation for road construction in Stearns County, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will be selling several properties along Highway 23.
"In the market for a home or garage?" the department posted on Facebook. "MnDOT has several structures up for sale in Stearns County to make room for upcoming construction along Hwy 23."
At least 14 structures on six different properties between Richmond and Paynesville will be up for sale, including rambler-style homes, garages, pole barns, shops and utility sheds. A full list of the structures for sale can be found here. Open houses for each structure will begin October 7 with bid opening February 2, 2021.
"Through the process of acquiring and re-purposing land for transportation related purposes," reads the MnDOT website, "MnDOT periodically sells homes, sheds and other structures located on these properties. There is generally a requirement that the purchaser responsibly disassembles and removes or moves the structure from MnDOT property in a timely manner."
Properties currently for sale by bid include vacant lots in Victoria and Minneapolis and lakefront land in Grand Marais. While open houses will done be in-person, bids will be done online via the MnDOT Live (video.ibm.com/mndot) video streaming service per the Minnesota Department of Health.
