Good thing Minnesotans are so good-natured, otherwise this could have gone over really poorly...

Summer in Minnesota doesn't last long. In fact, some would say the only seasons we get are fall, winter, spring and construction season.

With highs in the lower to upper 80's this week, Minnesota Department of Transportation on Twitter took an opportunity to stir Minnesotans up a bit by reminding us: winter is coming.

"If you feel like you're melting today, just remember...," MNDoT posted to Twitter along with a video of a line of snow plows clearing the highway.

The responses from accounts including City of West St. Paul, MSP Airport, and Bring Me the News have been hilarious.

In all seriousness, though -- the first day of winter is less than five months away. *Cue sobbing*
