Two members of the Minnesota House of Representatives demonstrated what it’s like to dine in the great outdoors when a blizzard hits, and they did it at a Sauk Rapids bar.

Representatives Shane Mekeland and Eric Lucero sat down in the video to enjoy a meal outdoors at Rollie’s Rednecks and Longnecks as Governor Walz has allowed outdoor dinging to happen at 50% capacity. In the video the representatives are served drinks that are frozen solid, and a breakfast special that looks good but is too cold to cut.

The menus also blow away as the winter storm rolls in, and the reps note that isn’t the easiest to eat with thick gloves on.

They proceed to order a hot coffee that comes out iced.

The message the representatives are trying to convey to Governor Walz in the video is that restaurant owners across the state are struggling, and outdoor dining isn’t cutting it this time of year. They need our help and support right now, and the best way to do that is to allow them to open. The one-size-fits-all-mandates are hurting the small business owners in the state.

They wrapped up the video saying they are committed to getting Minnesota opened up safely once again, and getting Minnesotan’s back to work.
